The Expert Myth
by Veritasium
Ever wondered why some experts seem to not really know what they are doing?
My take on this video
Ever wondered why some experts seem to not really know what they are doing? Or why some people fail to improve even when trying really hard?
Sometimes, me too. Sometimes I have doubted myself - do those experts actually know what they are doing? And while I always thought it was extremely hard to predict macro-scale social-dependent things, I still wondered - if they can't do it anyway, why are they experts? and if they can, why are they wrong so often?
And as someone who has always been in the environments that provided the necessary things to improve properly, I failed to understand why others couldn't. I'm still a bit doubtful, but this video has shown me some of the very likely answers. tbf those are probably THE answers, but I remain a bit skeptical unless I know the exact details of the studies/research, which is the case now.
Nonetheless, very informative video, imo.

Possibly one of the best Veritasium videos I have watched, but even then, this one barely made it on the list.
